THE FOURTH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON AUTHENTIC HISTORY, REAL NEWS & THE FIRST AMENDMENT
Sponsored by American Free Press & The Barnes Review
Crowne Plaza Hotel, 1489 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, Virginia
Sunday, June 22, 2003
Before commencing the day's proceedings Willis Carto read out the sensational Ingrid Zündel advertisement as carried in today's Washington Times.
11:00 am Hutton Gibson: Declining Influence of Roman Catholicism
Hutton Gibson, at 84, is a fearless man. "What can they take from me?" he replied as Fredrick Töben asked him about the media attention his comment about the 'Holocaust' has received, even in Australia.
He is a grass-roots man claiming that state laws must precede federal laws. If the federation is dissolved, he asked, then who would own the federal debt?
Mr Gibson said that not since Pope PiusXII has there been a pope. Commenting on a question about his son's film, The Passion, Hutton Gibson said that the Wiesenthal Centre in Los Angeles claims the film will take the Catholic Church back to the stone age, before Vatican II. But that may perhaps be Mel Gibson's intention!

9:40 am Fr John O'Connor: Legitimacy of the State of Israel
Father O'Connor stated that the claim the Israelis have a right to Palestine will bring further tragedy to the region. Mankind is enslaved by half-truths, errors and deception, and this was certainly the case with the US invasion of Iraq. "We Christians have got to call on the government to repentance," he concluded.
10:20 am Evangelist Dale Crowley: Moral & Immoral Solutions to Mideast Problems
With a strong Christian message addressed to the President of the United States, Evangelist Dale Crowley claimed that the attack on Iraq was an immoral, aggressive act and contrary to Christian ethics.

... and another commentary from Walter Mueller on 23 June 2003!
Dear Fellow Patriot!
This Patriot Letter is kind of late, because I just came back from a great evening with friends.
Something amazing happened on the last day of the Barnes Review Conference. You probably heard about it
from other sources. Even though I believe I was one of the first ones to know about it.
On the last day of the conference, Willis Carto started the day with reading the full page ad in the
Washington Times, placed by Ingrid Rimland on behalf of her husband Ernst Zundel, to the audience.
Let me remind you that I have listened to all the speeches and that I believe all of them were good.
It's just that they were all about subjects that I am not going to divert my time to fight them. So, you
could say I am naturally biased.
The reason Willis Carto had to do this is clear and a blind man would understand this. The conference takes
place in Washington DC., the Zundel ad appeared in a DC newspaper, and there was no way around it. So I
find myself struggling, giving him credit for it. I strongly believe that if that ad wouldn't have
appeared in the Washington Times today, Willis Carto would have not mentioned Zundel. Sure, there were a
few others that mention him, as I am reminded by the response to my review from a man I greatly admire,
Edgar J. Steele. He also points out that the holocaust was mentioned a couple of times. Sure it was, but the
word "mentioned" is the key.
I feel kind of privileged to have a great writer like Steele take the time to straighten me out. Which, of
course, does not change my view of the conference - period. He's asked me to please forward this to you so
you get another view from somebody who was actually there. I gladly do so.
To summarize, my friends, I am pretty sure that this conference was great for many people. My respect goes
to all of the speakers, which, with a few exceptions, I haven't met or heard of. It is my humble opinion
that you cannot have a conference about freedoms and the truth today without having made Ernst Zundel the
center of this conference. He was not! Even though I think he met all the criteria of the theme of the
conference. Until Sunday, Ernst Zundel was barely mentioned in comparison that he should have been the
main attraction.
Willis Carto called it a sensational ad, I call it self-defense. I have said it many times, Ernst Zundel
is the poster-boy that displays the hatred, the viciousness and the character of the Jews. But, then
again, this is just my opinion.
You can view the text of the ad at Dr Fredrick Töben's website at
http://www.adelaideinstitute.org
Boy, I have to tell you this about Dr Töben, he sure is on the edge of the news. I cannot tell you how much
I appreciate the tremendous work he puts into his website. Already, in the early afternoon, the
Washington Times ad, with pictures, were posted on his website. Not even the Z-gram had yet hit the screens.
I might sometimes disagree with Dr Töben, but he surely is up there on the list of my heroes.
Now, about the ad, I have tried to get a copy of the Washington Times here in the greater Sacramento area.
No luck! In fact, Barnes & Nobles, Borders, Tower, none of them carry the Washington Times. They carry
the Washington Post, but not the Times. Kind of strange, I thought, so I did a little research and
found out that the Washington Times is owned by Moon's son, a Korean. It has - and boy, don't take this the
wrong way (you guys always bitch about accuracy) - compared to Washington Post, New York Times, etc., not
as much of a circulation. Thanks to Töben, I printed out the text of the ad and was confused at first why
it was addressed to President Putin. But, who cares, as long as the story of Ernst Zundel got out.
Other news are also that Ernst Zundel was offered by the Canadian Government to be freed if he pleads
guilty of being a national security threat. Once he does, he's free to go to the country of his choice.
Now below, as promised, renowned commentator and columnist Edgar J. Steele, who was a keynote speaker
at the Barnes Review Conference, responds to my take on the conference. Some think that I was being
negative about the conference, because of the IHR. Baloney. I haven't even mentioned the hateful speech
that Mike Piper gave, attacking Mark Weber. So I am really glad that Mr. Steele admits those things and
lets you know about them, so I won't be accused of bias. Enjoy:
Checking my email here at Dulles airport, awaiting my flight back to the Left Coast, and saw this amongst
all the porn spam.
I did not understand why you were so uniformly negative toward the TBR conference until the very end
of your second day's report, where you pumped for IHR. Now, please understand that I am not opposed to
either Willis Carto or Mark Weber. I have exchanged pleasantries with both of them.
I do not subscribe to the rampant side choosing that seems so de rigueur in "the movement" these days. We
all have real enemies far worse (can you say jew?) and the last thing we need do is alienate those among us
who seem not to be strident enough to suit our taste. It is as unseemly for you to take these shots as it
was for Mike Piper to rail against Weber yesterday, though I must admit that he seemed to see it as an
almost purely personal dustup between them.
To dispute your accounting, by the way, please review the text of my TBR conference speech, "Injustice for
All," now posted at http://www.conspiracypenpal.com and you will see that I mentioned Ernst several times,
just as so many speakers did. You will also see that I slam both Jews and the so-called "holocaust" several
times; again, just as so many speakers did.
Furthermore, several times I have consulted with Kirk Lyons and Ingrid Rimland concerning Ernst's current
difficulties. Kirk and I were preparing to prep and file the papers in America when, suddenly, Ernst was
spirited off to Canada. That pretty much ended our efforts, of course, though I have a standing offer to
help (and pro bono, at that) when and if Ernst's hired gun, Doug Christy (or Mr. Baum up in Canada,
perhaps) manages to get Ernst back into the States. So much for the innuendo that none of the TBR
conference participants have put our money where our mouths are.
Stan Hess will, I think, support my report that Ernst Zundel's was the single most-mentioned name throughout
the entire proceedings. In fact, Willis started off today's proceedings by reading to us the text of a
full-page placed in today's Washington Times by Ingrid, concerning Ernst.
Similarly, the "holocaust" came up repeatedly, as did the 'Jew' word. Believe me on this, as I have not been
one in the past to mince words.
I admit that I wish "the holocaust boys," Rudolf, Granata and Töben, had been given much more time.
They were all quite interesting. However, Granata went first and absolutely and literally refused to
yield the podium until he was damned good and ready to do so, thereby stealing much of the time alloted to
both Rudolf and Töben.
There were a couple of conference participants, both speakers and attendees, that struck me as being
FBI/ADL/Mossad plants, most notably last night's dinner keynote speaker, Gordon Thomas. In fact, I
came dangerously close to rising and asking him directly how long he had been a Mossad agent.
Nothing new about that, though.
The ADL strove mightily to have the conference shut down, too, once it learned where it was located.
I have enjoyed your missives, Walter, and am sure that this is simply a case of distance engendering mistaken
impression. The next time you see me on the agenda of one of these events, just ask, and I will be happy to
give you daily email updates. Hope you will update your readers with these comments -
they deserve it.
