The AIDS Debate Although the debate has somewhat been constrained by legal pronouncements [gag orders], the actual subject matter remains contentious. It is not at all certain that HIV exists, something that scientists find a real challenge. After all, a scientist who values the scientific method will always append to the results an element of error. Those who claim AIDS orthodoxy are not following the scientific method.
