Barry Chamish - Israel

 

Family


Barry Chamish was born in Canada in 1952, and he did Aliyah Israel 

in 1975. He received an MA from the Hebrew University Of Jerusalem 

1979. In 1979-81 he served with the IDF Combat Unit and fought in 

the 1982 Lebanon War.

His numerous reviews have appeared in The Economist, Sunday Telegraph, New American, New Statesman, Jerusalem Post, Yediot Ahronot, with major publications in The Atlantic, New York Newsday, Boston Globe, National Review, Reason, etc.


On the international lecture circuit he has had successful 

presentations in 11 American states, Brazil, Mexico, Italy, 

England and Australia.

Barry Chamish claims that his primary accomplishment is the 

fact that his book Who Murdered Yitzhak Rabin has sold over 

30,000 copies in 5 languages in Israel, making it one of the 

biggest bestseller in Israel in the past several years. Its 

influence is profound. From 0 per cent support for his thesis in 

1995, according to Kol Yisrael, October 26, 2002, 29 per cent of

 Israelis believe Rabin was murdered in a political coup and 20 

per cent suspect so. Half the country now believes his research

 on the Rabin murder was accurate.
