For many years I receive quite a lot of Christmas Cards and Christmas Letters, but none has moved me like the one from Ernst Zündel, I've received today. Actually, it was written to Harvey and myself. Because of the lack of stamps, he chose me to relay the message to all of you. I was moved, as you can imagine. The message is awesome and it is Ernst Zündel. He speaks about the conference and about the necessity to work together. He specifically asked me to send a copy of this letter to his wife, Ingrid Rimland. He also asked to make sure that Mark Weber, Dr. Fredrick Toben and Dr. Faurisson read it as well. Since this is very important, I will postpone Dr. Robert Faurisson's letter, Dr. Bob Countess' letter, and the rude response from Dr. Mathis until tomorrow. Now get ready for some great words. This is a must read and you should forward it to everyone: [START] Dear Walter! Dear Harvey!   In Treue fest! It's snowing like in a typically Canadian blizzard outside for hours already, which means there will be no 10 minutes of "Fresh Air" in the prison yard today! Too bad - I always look forward to those precious few minutes, which I spend vigorously jogging, to get the circulation moving! Let me hasten to thank you for the photocopies of these rare magazine articles, and those very interesting photos of pre-war, pre-bombing Berlin! Ingrid and Mark Weber have been keeping me updated on the usual Revisionist controversies and tempests in teapots, personality clashes, and what goes with them! [Fredrick Töben comments:   Up to 1992 it was Willis Carto who played the mediator role, but then the human factor intervened as the prospect of a windfall of millions of dollars for Revisionists appeared on the horizon.   In 1999, when I travelled to Germany in the hope of following up a promise of receiving a 'couple of millions' for Adelaide Institute, my imprisonment served as a reason for the prospective donor to cut contact with me.   I then wondered what Adelaide Institute's voluntary workers and supporters would have done had the money come through and had I remained behind bars for at least two years for which I had prepared myself.    This is referenced in my book: Where Truth Is No Defence, I Want To Break Free. I had lots of time to think about all sorts of things.] I can see that Ernst's conciliatory touch is missing. Most people never gave me credit for this role in Revisionism, that I kept my finger on the pulse of things, and tried by persuasion and reasoning with very factions, by a kind of personal shuttle diplomacy, to make all these divergent personalities keep focused on the larger picture - rather than taking their anger or frustrations out on one another! I think the only persons in Revisionism, who appreciated my kind of "Elder Statesman" role, was Dr. Faurisson and Mark Weber. And as it turns out the Justice Dept. of Canada! Many others were ambivalent about my role, because apart from a handful of booklets and some eccentric UFO books, I have not authored great tomes, yet if one were to bind all the 40 year output of newsletters, in German and English, and the many many booklets, fliers and handbills together and add the by now hundreds of thousands of pages of Court Transcripts, Legal Submissions, Motion Records, Witness Testimony all in one, I dare say I would go down in Revisionist history as one of the most prolific producers of not only a paper-trail, but also a massive audio and video file trail. Reporters have asked me about this anomaly, why I seem to have written so little directly, yet constantly seem to be on trial about words written and spoken by others!? That is a good question - actually it is a bit of a perverse situation, I can only try to fathom by falling back on KARMA. It defies logical explanations. I mean - Richard Harwood (Verral) never once was tried for writing "Did Six Million Really Die?" He even refused to come to Toronto to testify about his 30.000 word, brilliant essay! Nothing could persuade him to defend his work! I was left to Dr. Faurisson, Dietlieb Felderer, Thies Christophersen and many others, to stand in the breach, like the outnumbered Spartans in Thermopilae (Check spelling) in ancient Greece, to hold off the enemies! Thus, I have no logical or easily comprehensible answer, why the enemy of mankind would constantly pick on me? Dr. Arthur Butz, Dr. Faurisson, David Irving, Kevin MacDonald and Mark Weber, are far more erudite, even brilliant, then I am was, or ever will be! So why do they pick on me? Maybe that could be the subject of a panel discussion at next summers Revisionist Conference in Sacramento? I mean it Walter. I have puzzled over this question for years! Ingrid will send you something that you can auction or raffle off next summer. Should I be released on bail, I will try to contribute something from here as well! If I may make a suggestion, which I have previously discussed, as an idea, with Mark Weber, you might consider more panel discussions, tightly moderated, Greg Raven did a good job as master of ceremony. It takes a diplomatic but firm hand to keep things orderly and on time. This way, Walter, and Harvey, more people can be heard, the attendees get a greater spectrum and benefits, out of the gathering, and new talent is "broken in", gets exposed to an audience etc. Consider it a bit like a "leadership development program - conference" in one! Like "life fire maneuvers" in the army. Before this event, the ruffled feathers of the various individuals and factions should be smoothed out, misunderstandings should try to be solved, hurt or bruised egos, upset emotions etc, all the things that arise out of human interaction, should be addressed. Harvey Taylor, Andy Allen, and Mark Weber all three have lifetimes of experience in that, and their skills and talents ought to be tapped. A lot can be achieved via E-mail, a lot more by personal discussions on the telephone and in rare cases, personal visits might be needed! Always be willing, even eager, to hear everybody's point of view, try to address their grievances, real and imagined, both are important to be looked at, and to be dissected, and if possible to be acted upon! Any hatchets still outstanding, should be buried, for the duration at least of the conference! Such a gathering should strengthen our unity of purpose, the cause of Truth in History, should come first and foremost - egos, although an important driving force in life and nature, should be kept in checked and reigned in. THE CAUSE OF THE TRUTH COMES FIRST! That is the Zundel-formula for successful trials, and cooperation amongst people of different viewpoints and interpretations! Respect for one another and common courtesy will produce harmony - which ought to be one of the goals of such a gathering. It will re-energize people to rise above themselves, and they will return to their hometowns, their home countries, with a new resolve, to spread the truth and bring liberation to our people, through information. I will try to do my part from prison, by writing to people and by acting in my traditional role as conciliator or mediator! WITH ALL CONCERNED! Be kind to one another! Don't let your emotions get the better of you! Think before you put your fingers to that keyboard and think again twice or three times, before you hit that SEND button! My mother was a wise peasant, she taught me to sleep on a letter, at least over night. This has prevented me from sending and mailing a letter, which might have caused upset or hurt to friend and even foe! People's feelings are important. Mama Zündel's advice, was good advice!
