Mel Gibson & The Pharisees
K R Bolton

Mel Gibson is a conservative, traditionalist Catholic. His
father Hutton, runs a traditionalist Church. Mel Gibson as a
moral, decent family man is therefore well on the outer in
Hollywood in many ways. However, his self-funded film The
Passion
, depicting the final hours in the life of Christ,
has generated a storm among the Jewish Establishment and its
Thought Police, the Anti-Defamation League. As the
latter-day Pharisees  have long pointed out, any accurate
depiction of the crucifixion undermines the revered status
of Judaism. The Jewish Establishment has long wished to
purge the New Testament of references that portray the
Jewish elders in an unfavourable light. In particular,
Passion Plays, the most famous being the extravaganza
performed at the German village of Oberammeragau since
Medieval times, in gratitude for being spared the Plague,
have been anathema.

Gibson, although he has already changed the script, has
stated that he is willing to put his career on the line for
the sake of this cinematic, 21st C. Passion Play.
The Jewish Establishment was instrumental in changing
Catholic thinking with Vatican II during the 1960s, and
persuaded the Church hierarchy to eliminate all references
to the Jewish responsibility for the crucifixion of Jesus,
and over the past few years have extracted repentance from
the Church for their supposed responsibility for
'anti-Semitism'.  This is not enough, however. There is
increasing pressure for the Church to accept responsibility
for the 'Holocaust', and to pay out reparations to Jews and
to Israel.

Judaism is Pharisaism

What the Jewish Thought Police do not want widely known is
that present day Orthodox Judaism has a direct line of
descent from the Pharisaism of Jesus? time, and that today's
Orthodox rabbis claim a direct line of descent from the
Pharisees.
Whilst the Jewish Establishment arrogantly and aggressively
demands that Christian theology 'the New Testament itself'
be altered according to their sensibilities, what would the
reaction be if Christian theologians demanded that the
rabbis expunge the anti-Christian and anti-Gentile passages
of the Talmud  and other rabbinical literature? Indeed, this
rabbinical maligning of Christianity, and its Founder, was
itself the cause of anti-Semitism of both the Catholic
Church and of Martin Luther, who wrote a book called The
Jews & Their Lies
, exposing the anti-Christian doctrines of
the Talmud.

Anti-Defamation League
As one would expect, it is the Anti-Defamation League of
B'nai B'rith that is in the forefront of opposition to
Gibson's project. The ADL was established in 1913 to oppose
whatever it considers to be 'anti-Semitism'. Of course,
since the founding of Israel in 1948, any criticism of
Israel is regarded as 'anti-Semitism' by the ADL, which has
the influence to destroy the careers and reputations of what
Gentiles would normally consider the rich and powerful.
Among its victims have been Congressmen and Senators.  The
ADL runs training seminars on so-called 'hate crimes' for
police and Government bureaucracies, despite its historic
association with Jewish gangsters , and its prosecution for
having stolen records from the LA Police Dept.
The ADL organised a commission of so-called theological
experts to critique the Gibson script. The organisation sent
Gibson the following letter:

March 24, 2003
Dear Mr. Gibson

Based on initial media reports, we have serious concerns
about the film you are currently making about the last hours
of the life of Jesus, "The Passion," and would like to be
assured that it will not give rise to the old canard of
charging Jews with deicide and to anti-Semitism.
Passion plays have an infamous history of leading to hatred,
violence and even death of Jews. Given your talent and
celebrity, how you depict the death of Jesus will have
widespread influence on people's ideas, attitudes and
behavior towards Jews today.
The Catholic Church has confronted its tradition of teaching
of contempt for Jews and its charge of deicide leveled
against the Jewish people and unequivocally repudiated both.
The Church understands that only teachings which promote
understanding and reconciliation toward the Jewish people
can represent religious truth and the word of God.
As a respected international movie icon, you have a great
responsibility in the message ultimately promoted by the
film, one we hope that is positive. We look forward to your
response on this urgent issue.
 Sincerely,
Abraham H. Foxman

ADL: Mel Gibson's 'Passion' Will Fuel Anti-Semitism
NewsMax Wires

Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003 The following release was issued by
the ADL on Monday. The Anti-Defamation League, founded in
1913, is the world's leading organization fighting
anti-Semitism through programs and services that counteract
hatred, prejudice and bigotry.

New York, NY--After having attended a private screening of
Mel Gibson's new film, The Passion, the Anti-Defamation
League (ADL) voiced concerns that the film, if released in
its present form, "will fuel hatred, bigotry and
anti-Semitism" by reinforcing the notion of collective
Jewish guilt for the death of Jesus.
An ADL representative was present at a private screening of
"The Passion" at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, Texas.
"The film unambiguously portrays Jewish authorities and the
Jewish mob as the ones responsible for the decision to
crucify Jesus," said Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National
Director.
"We are deeply concerned that the film, if released in its
present form, will fuel the hatred, bigotry and
anti-Semitism that many responsible churches have worked
hard to repudiate."
The version of Gibson's film, as previewed by Rabbi Eugene
Korn, ADL Director of Interfaith Affairs, contained a number
of troubling themes and images, all raising the specter of
"deicide," or Jewish complicity in the death of Jesus.
"Sadly, the film contains many of the dangerous teachings
that Christians and Jews have worked for so many years to
counter," said Rabbi Korn. "This is not a disagreement
between the Jews and Mr. Gibson. Many theologically informed
Catholics and Protestants have expressed the same concerns
regarding anti-Semitism, and that this film may undermine
Christian-Jewish dialogue and could turn back the clock on
decades of positive progress in interfaith relations."
"We hope that Mr. Gibson and Icon Productions will consider
modifying 'The Passion,' so that the film will be one that
is historically accurate, theologically sound and free of
any anti-Semitic message," said Mr. Foxman.
ADL's concerns include:
1. The film portrays Jewish authorities and the Jewish "mob"
as forcing the decision to torture and execute Jesus, thus
assuming responsibility for the crucifixion.
2. The film relies on sinister medieval stereotypes,
portraying Jews as blood-thirsty, sadistic and money-hungry
enemies of God who lack compassion and humanity.
3. The film relies on historical errors, chief among them its
depiction of the Jewish high priest controlling Pontius
Pilate
4. The film uses an anti-Jewish account of a 19th century
mystical anti-Semitic nun, distorts New Testament
interpretation by selectively citing passages to weave a
narrative that oversimplifies history, and is hostile to
Jews and Judaism.
5. The film portrays Jews who adhere to their Jewish faith as
enemies of God and the locus of evil.

Taking issue with Christianity
Joseph Farah is an American conservative syndicated
columnist who is avidly pro-Jewish and pro-Israel. On that
account he is concerned that the typically aggressive
attitude of the ADL towards The Passion in itself will
expose the anti-Christian nature of the Jewish Establishment
and its Though Police. In his column Between the lines, he
writes:

Mel Gibson's The Passion
July 23, 2003

I saw a movie this week that moved me, changed me, inspired
me and deepened my faith.
I was blessed to be part of a small group of people invited
to a screening in Washington of Mel Gibson's The Passion.
Even better was the fact that Mel Gibson was there to
introduce the rough cut and answer questions for an hour
afterward.
It was a memorable day, but it was Mel Gibson's art that
stole the show.
It's not an easy picture to watch. It's gruelling, in fact.
It's torturous as it should be under the circumstances.
It's the story of inhuman suffering willingly accepted in
the ultimate substitutional sacrifice. It's hard to watch
such graphic depictions of a man suffering and dying ? even
when you know the ultimate outcome. But it is worth it. This
is horror we all need to see and understand. This is a death
that shouldn't be glossed over.
Before seeing the picture, I had read quite a bit about this
movie. I had read it was controversial. I read some
considered it anti-Semitic. I had read there was great
concern expressed over the story.
I don't understand why.
I consider myself a good friend to the Jewish community in
the U.S. and around the world. On an average, I speak to one
large Jewish audience per month. I have warned Jewish
audiences around the nation and the world about the rising
tide of anti-Semitism. I believe it is real. I know it is a
threat. I am deeply concerned about it.
But let me tell my Jewish friends: You have nothing to worry
about in this movie. Drop it. Forget it. Don't waste another
minute concerning yourselves with it. It is a wonderful,
inspirational Christian movie that in no way takes any
pot-shots at the Jews as a people.
It is a thoughtful, sobering, accurate recounting of the
torture, death and resurrection of Jesus as told in the
Gospels. Nothing more. Nothing less. Why this should be
threatening to Jews is beyond me ? particularly when Jews
and Christians are making historic efforts to get along with
one another, to find common ground and to recognize and
celebrate their common values.
There's nothing remotely controversial about this movie for
Christians - not real believers, not Protestants, not
Catholics. So, if the Anti-Defamation League chooses to make
an issue of this film, it will be the organization's own
undoing. In effect, the ADL will be telling Christians their
most deeply held beliefs, their faith, their Holy Scriptures
are offensive.
To take issue with this movie is, essentially, to take issue
with the Gospels, to take issue with the Christian faith and
to take issue with a monumental artistic achievement by a
filmmaker of increasing stature.
I wouldn't recommend that path to my friends in the Jewish
community. It would be a dreadful mistake. It would set back
Christian-Jewish relations - now at a high point in this
country.
This is a movie that may not be the biggest box-office
success ever, but it will resonate in the hearts and souls
of millions and millions of Christians when it is released
next spring -  and, I suspect, for generations to come.
I am impressed beyond words.
Yet, the New York Times has tried to savage the movie. The
New Republic
is attempting to do it now. Others will
certainly jump into the fray, having been stirred to passion
by Abraham Foxman and the ADL.
They will all fail. They will all look foolish in the end.
This is Mel Gibson's artistic triumph. It is his spiritual
triumph. It is an act of faith that I believe will be
rewarded.
It's time to get out of the way. It's time to let the
artists finish this movie their way. It's time to stop all
the idle gossip about it. It's time, simply, to wait ? to
give this film a chance to speak for itself.

associating it with alleged 'hate mail' etc.

Calls and Hate Mail Accusing Jews of Killing Jesus
Rabbi Marvin Hier, dean and founder of the Simon Wiesenthal
Center said that the controversy over Mel Gibson?s yet-to-be
released film, The Passion, has generated an unprecedented
wave of hate mail and calls to the Jewish human rights group
over the Center?s endorsement of changes to the film
proposed by Christian and Jewish scholars.
Included in one of the letters that the Wiesenthal Center
received soon after the film was screened in Colorado
Springs, Colorado, the writer said in part, ??What this
tells me is that you do not want the real truth to be shown
on a public setting that will remind millions of Americans
that the jews were in fact totally responsible for the death
of Jesus Christ.?
The letter continued, ?I don?t endorse terrorism of any kind
but the odds are that some of these enlightened folks will
go for the throat of you jews and some of your offices of
hate such as the ADL main office in New York, or maybe even
the Simon Wiesenthal Center. Every time I hear of a suicide
bomber killing jews in Israel I think to myself YES!?
?We fully understand that the crucifixion is central to the
belief of more than a billion Christians and in no way do we
want to impede Mr. Gibson?s right to make a film,? said
Rabbi Hier. ?However, we urge that he make some of the
changes suggested to him by the distinguished group of
Catholic and Jewish experts in the field to help ensure that
the Jewish people are not yet again falsely singled out as
being responsible for the death of Jesus,? Hier concluded.
The Center is also seeking a dialogue with leading Christian
leaders to discuss the matter further.
The Simon Wiesenthal Center is one of the largest
international Jewish human rights organizations with a
membership of over 400,000 families in the United States.
The Center is an NGO at international agencies including the
United Nations, UNESCO, and the OSCE.

Oberammergau Passion Play
The ire that Mel Gibson has attracted from the Jewish
Thought Police is the latest in an historical process by
which the latter-day Pharisees have sought to re-write
Christianity with the ultimate aim of obliterating the name
of Jesus. As we have stated, Mel Gibson?s ?The Passion? is a
modern, cinematic version of the Medieval ?Passion Play?.
The most famous of these is the one enacted in the German
village of Oberammergau. The Jewish Thought Police have long
targeted this Play for elimination in the same manner as
Gibson?s cinematic Passion Play. The following from the ADL
backgrounds the objections to the Passion Play and the
success in having historical script altered:

From ADL website, May 2000:
The Oberammergau Passion Plays
The Oberammergau Passion Play will be presented in Germany
on May 21, 2000. The script of the new version has been
changed much to avoid anti-Judaism and the organizers are to
be congratulated for their editorial efforts and constant
cooperation with ADL. We look forward to continue our
creative working relationship. There is still, however, a
serious problem and concern about the very negative
presentation of Jewish leadership in the complex society of
the First Century. It implies a sense of community guilt for
Jesus? death, minimizing Pilate?s and Roman responsibility
for the death of Jesus.
Passion Plays are, in general, sources of theological
anti-Judaism and do not help to improve the relationship of
Christians and Jews. It is equally important to point out
that Jews are not against the Passion of Jesus , but are
deeply concerned with the presentation of the Passion
without an explanation that avoids any anti-Jewish
theological or anti-Semitic interpretation. This concern has
been expressed by the National Conference of Catholic
Bishops in their document "The Criteria for the Evaluation
of Dramatizations of the Passion." For this reason, it is
suggested that tourist agencies or different organizing
groups alert tourists and visitors to the Oberammergau
Passion Play and to the problems related to the presentation
of Jews and Judaism in the play and its theological negative
projections -- a heritage of centuries of contempt -- which
prepared the atmosphere for the Holocaust, a painful reality
in the nearby Dachau concentration camp.
The Oberammergau City Hall will be presenting a millennial
presentation of its Passion Play in May, 2000. It was first
performed as a way to thank God for saving the city from a
plague that was devastating Europe in the Middle Ages. The
presentation is based on New Testament narratives of the
Passion of Jesus. Since the late Seventies, the
Anti-Defamation League has been very critical of the script
which projected a theological anti-Judaism, as well as an
anti-Semitic message. It is not by chance that Adolf Hitler,
who saw the 1934 presentation, praised it as a "precious
tool" in the fight against Jews and Judaism.

ADL?s Objections to the Oberammergau Passion Play
The ADL outlines the manner by which it has been subverting
the script of the Oberammergau Passion Play, just as the ADL
and other Talmudic operatives subverted the Catholic
doctrine on the crucifixion during the 1960s, and have
attempted the same with Gibson?s cinematic Passion Play:

ADL Critique
Dr. Leonard Swidler, Professor of Catholic Theology at
Temple University, and ADL have been working together since
the Eighties recommending to Oberammergau authorities
specific changes to the script and presentation of Jewish
characters. It has been a slow process of reconsideration by
the City Hall authorities and the organizers of the Passion
Play. We were not requesting any changes to the text of the
New Testament itself, which is a sacred one, but to avoid
any presentation that might project anti-Judaism or
anti-Semitism.
ADL and Dr. Swidler were invited by Klement Fend, the Mayor
of Oberammergau, to attend a meeting to discuss new versions
of the script of the Passion Play and its presentation in
the year 2000. The new script, written by Otto Huber, is a
great improvement over previous texts.
The following changes have been incorporated into the new
script:
- Many of the characters of the new script do not appear as
Jews grabbing for money, but as simple citizens of the city
of Jerusalem;
- Hebrew names are mixed with Greek names, representing the
different sectors of Jewish society;
- Some characters like Dathan, the merchant, who was the
liaison between the chief priest, Caiphas, and Pilate, the
Roman governor, are not mentioned in the new script;
- The negative character of "the Rabbi" has been eliminated;
-Jesus is called "Rabbi," stressing Jesus? "Jewishness";
- The term "Old Testament" is replaced by the term "Hebrew
Bible";
- The phrase from Matthew 27:25, "the blood be upon us," has
been taken out;
- A reference to the disappearance of Judaism because of
Jewish denial of Jesus has been removed;
- The crowd before Pilate is now divided between those who
are for and against Jesus;
- Judas has been de-demonized; he comes across more humanly
now, rather than as a stereotyped figure who, in Christian
history, has too often been easily identified in a negative
manner with Judaism. The very similarity of the names, Judas
and Judaism, unfortunately lends itself to this deleterious
identification;
- The term "Pharisee" has been eliminated from the text
whenever the opponents of Jesus came to the fore. This, too,
is an important change. For the term "Pharisee" has, over
the centuries, been unwarrantedly loaded with opprobrium
and, at the same time, often closely identified with Jews
and Judaism in a negative manner;
- Jesus Says a Blessing in Hebrew.

Ultra-Orthodox Jews boast of Jesus? Crucifixion
The Universal Jewish Encyclopaedia states of Judaism:
?The Jewish religion as it is today traces its descent,
without a break, through all the centuries, from the
Pharisees. Their leading ideas and methods found expression
in a literature of enormous extent, of which a very great
deal is still in existence. The TALMUD is the largest and
most important single member of that literature. . And the
study of it is essential for any real understanding of
PHARISAISM?.

The Cabalistic, mystical branch of Orthodox Judaism known as
Lubavitch Hasidim, which does not attempt to hide the true
nature of Judaism and its hatred for Jesus and Christianity
and its contempt for Gentiles, identifies the Pharisees and
their Sanhedrin  of Jesus? times, as today?s rabbis. In
explaining why they reject Jesus as the Messiah they state:
?In Deuteronomy 17, this false prophet is also described as
someone who would rebel against the authority of the judges
of the Jewish people, and who should be put to death for his
rebelliousness (v. 8-13, esp. v. 12). Who are the judges?
The highest court in Israel was the Sanhedrin, which was
established by Moses (Exodus 18:13-26; Numbers 11:16-29),
and which lasted more than 15 centuries. The members of the
Sanhedrin were the rabbis known as "Pharisees" (Pirushim,
"those with the explanation"). G-d gave permanent authority
to these judges to interpret the Law and G-d's Word, and it
is a commandment to follow their decisions without turning
even slightly to the right or the left (Deut. 17:11). But
the false prophet would challenge the authority of the
Sanhedrin, thus revealing himself to be an evil man.?

Noah's Covenant Web Site
Who Was Jesus?
?The Bible gave a warning about a dangerous, false prophet
who would arise to test our faith in G-d. In Deuteronomy 13,
G-d describes this false prophet as a member of the Jewish
people (v. 2, 7) who would tell true prophecies and would
have the power of miracles. G-d Himself would give this
false prophet the power to perform miracles and reveal
prophecy, but the false prophet would try to seduce the
people away from G-d's Law and towards strange gods unknown
to Judaism. The purpose would be to test whether we are
truly committed to living under the Law, or whether we will
be dazzled and fall for the temptation to join a false path
to salvation (v. 3-6, 7-8, 11). In this Biblical passage,
G-d repeatedly commands the Jews to kill this false prophet,
lest the evil spread and destroy many souls.
To be accepted by the people, the false prophet would
sometimes pretend to be a righteous Jew who fulfills the
Law, but at key moments he would turn against certain
details of the Law in order to make the breach (v. 6, 7).
This is the reason that verse 1 commands us not to add or
subtract any details from the Law, and verse 5 warns us to
remain steadfast with all the traditions of the Law.
In Deuteronomy 17, this false prophet is also described as
someone who would rebel against the authority of the judges
of the Jewish people, and who should be put to death for his
rebelliousness (v. 8-13, esp. v.
17:11). But
the false prophet would challenge the authority of the
Sanhedrin, thus revealing himself to be an evil man.
In the book of the prophet Daniel, this false prophet is
described as a king (the eleventh horn on a terrible beast)
who would wage war against the Jews (the "holy ones"; see
Deut. 14:2 on this term) and would change the Law ?
including the calendar and the holidays (Daniel 7:8, 20-25).
Elsewhere, this false prophet is described as a king who
would disregard the G-d of his fathers, exalting himself as
a god and giving honor to this new god-head (Daniel
11:36-39).
The man known today as "Jesus" fulfilled all these
prophecies. He became a "king" (over the Christian church)
who changed the original Law, doing away with the Hebrew
calendar and the Biblical holidays (Rosh Hashanah, Yom
Kippur, Sukkos ? the Festival of Tabernacles, Passover,
etc.). He disregarded the one, infinite G-d of the Hebrew
Bible in favor of a new "trinity" that included himself. And
he repeatedly broke the Law by committing terrible sins,
while openly challenging the G-d-given authority of the
rabbis of the Sanhedrin.
Naturally, Jesus did sometimes pretend to respect the Law,
but whenever he thought he could get away with it, he turned
right around and broke that same Law. In Matthew 5:17-19, he
declared that he came to fulfill the Law, and in Matthew
23:1-3 he defended the authority of the rabbis. But the rest
of the time, he rebelled against the Law ? thus showing that
his occasional words of piety were meant only to hide his
evil agenda. The following sins of Jesus are recorded in the
"New Testament":
1) Jesus repudiated the laws of kosher food (Mark 7:18-19).
[Compare this to the prophet Daniel's strict adherence to
kashrus, in Daniel chapter 1.]
2) He repudiated the laws of honoring one's parents, and
called on his followers to hate their parents; he also
dishonored his own mother (Matthew 10:34-36; Matthew
12:46-50; Luke 14:26).
3) He violated the Sabbath by picking grain, and incited his
disciples to do the same (Matthew 12:1-8; Mark 2:23-26).
4) He again violated the Sabbath by healing a man's arm,
which was not a matter of saving a life, and he openly
defied the rabbis in his total repudiation of the Sabbath
(Matthew 12:9-13; Mark 3:1-5). [Compare this to G-d's view
of violating the Sabbath, in Numbers 15:32-36, Nehemiah
10:30-32, and dozens of other places throughout the Bible.]
5) Jesus brazenly defied and disobeyed the rabbis of the
Sanhedrin, repudiating their authority (This is recorded in
many places throughout the New Testament, but look
especially at Matthew 23:13-39 and John 8:44-45).

The Talmud (Babylonian edition) records other sins of "Jesus
the Nazarene":
1) He and his disciples practiced sorcery and black magic,
led Jews astray into idolatry, and were sponsored by
foreign, gentile powers for the purpose of subverting Jewish
worship (Sanhedrin 43a).
2) He was sexually immoral, worshipped statues of stone (a
brick is mentioned), was cut off from the Jewish people for
his wickedness, and refused to repent (Sanhedrin 107b; Sotah
47a).
3) He learned witchcraft in Egypt and, to perform miracles,
used procedures that involved cutting his flesh ? which is
also explicitly banned in the Bible (Shabbos 104b).
The false, rebellious message of Jesus has been thoroughly
rejected by the vast majority of the Jewish people, as G-d
commanded. Unfortunately, however, this same message has
brought a terrible darkness upon the world; today, over 1.5
billion gentiles believe in Jesus. These lost souls
mistakenly think they have found salvation in Jesus;
tragically, they are in for a rude awakening. Truth and
eternal life are found directly from G-d, through performing
His Law. Any "mediator" only separates man from G-d.?
(Note: Noah's website is run by Ex-Christians for Moses, a
Lubavitch affiliated outreach of Gentiles who yearn to be
the serfs of the neo-Pharisees).

Death penalty for Christian idolaters
The last ?rebbe? (rabbi) of the Lubavitch Hasidim was
Menachem Schneerson. Although rebbe Schneerson died in 1994
he is regarded as the Messiah by his followers who expect
his imminent resurrection or reincarnation, to rule over the
Jewish World Order. Rebbe Schneerson was honoured by both
presidents Bush and Reagan. A Congressional gold medal was
struck in his honour and in 1991 US Senate and Congress
proclaimed US Education Day marking his birthday. His cult
is therefore not a mere fringe religion, but has a major
influence throughout the world.
Something of the anti-Christian and anti-Gentile attitudes
of Talmudic and Cabalistic Judaism were clearly stated by
the rebbe to his followesr:
"...According to the known Jewish ruling that Christians are
idol worshippers." (Likkutei Sichos 37:198)
A gentile...is liable for the death penalty...if he has
invented a religious holiday for himself...The general
principle is we do not allow them to make new religious
rituals ? for themselves by their own devices?. and if he
does make some new 'mitzvah,' we lash him, punish him, and
inform him that he is obligated with the death penalty for
this..." (Rambam Mishne Torah?Hilchos Melachim 10:9).

We have shown that the ?controversy? over Mel Gibson?s
?Passion Play? is but a part of an enduring war against
Christianity instigated by the Pharisees since its founding
The Pharisaic sect continues to exist with ever growing
influence. The standard strategy of the Jewish Though Police
is to label anything critical of their aggressive racism as
?anti-Semitic?. Yet as we have shown, what they call
?anti-Semitism? has often been a reaction to the
anti-Gentile and anti-Christian extremism by the Pharisaic
cult that believes itself to be chosen by God to rule the
world with the power of life and death over the ?idolators?
of all non-Jewish religions, and even those Jews whose
beliefs are not in accordance with Pharisaic Orthodoxy.
In pointing out these facts, we seek not to ridicule or
condemn the Jewish people per se. Rather, we aim to shine a
light upon certain religious and political machinations
against Gentiles and Christians by those who seek, for their
own sectarian ends, to agitate the Jewish people, as in
Jesus' time. Ultimately, the victims are likely to be as
much the Jewish masses as the goyim, yet the sacrifice is
acceptable in maintaining the tyranny of certain rabbinical
and political leaders. We also note that some of the most
courageous opponents of the Pharisee cult have been found
among the Jews.

ADL's Objections to the Oberammergau Passion Play
The ADL outlines the manner by which it has been subverting
the script of the Oberammergau Passion Play, just as the ADL
and other Talmudic operatives subverted the Catholic
doctrine on the crucifixion during the 1960s, and have
attempted the same with Gibsons cinematic Passion Play:

The following changes have been incorporated into the new
script:
- Many of the characters of the new script do not appear as
Jews grabbing for money, but as simple citizens of the city
of Jerusalem;
- Hebrew names are mixed with Greek names, representing the
different sectors of Jewish society;
- Some characters like Dathan, the merchant, who was the
liaison between the chief priest, Caiphas, and Pilate, the
Roman governor, are not mentioned in the new script;
- The negative character of "the Rabbi" has been eliminated;
-Jesus is called "Rabbi," stressing Jesus? "Jewishness";
- The term "Old Testament" is replaced by the term "Hebrew
Bible";
- The phrase from Matthew 27:25, "the blood be upon us," has
been taken out;
- A reference to the disappearance of Judaism because of
Jewish denial of Jesus has been removed;
- The crowd before Pilate is now divided between those who
are for and against Jesus;
- Judas has been de-demonized; he comes across more humanly
now, rather than as a stereotyped figure who, in Christian
history, has too often been easily identified in a negative
manner with Judaism. The very similarity of the names, Judas
and Judaism, unfortunately lends itself to this deleterious
identification;
- The term "Pharisee" has been eliminated from the text
whenever the opponents of Jesus came to the fore. This, too,
is an important change. For the term "Pharisee" has, over
the centuries, been unwarrantedly loaded with opprobrium
and, at the same time, often closely identified with Jews
and Judaism in a negative manner;
