Israel gets new F-16I fighter/bomber Pilots of the newest F-16I long-range fighter/bomber which is to roll off the assembly line in Texas Friday are itchy to get their hands on the $45 million jet. Aerospace giant Lockheed Martin delivers the first F-16I at its plant here Friday to an Israeli delegation led by Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz, fresh from his talks in Washington. The rollout ceremony marks the interim phase in this $4.5 billion dollar deal, the largest arms deal ever taken in the history of the state. Lockheed Martin won the tender, beating rival Boeing, in 1999 to supply 102 of the advanced fighter jets which are aimed at strengthening the IAF's long reach, being able to reach nations like Iran and Libya. The aircraft have been supplemented to Israel's specifications and are different from any other F-16, even in the service of the US Air Force. They are being paid for from the annual US military grants given to Israel, which this year stands at about $2.2 billion. The next phase is transporting the jets to Israel. The first is expected to arrive next month and gradually the whole squadron will be in place at the Ramon base deep in the Negev. A total of three squadrons will be delivered by 2008. "We have not flown them yet," said Lt.-Col. A., commander of the "Negev" squadron "We went through a conversion course in the United States and we flew the simulator. But we will only fly the real thing when it comes to the country. But after we flew the simulator we got real itchy to get in the cockpit and fly it already." Lt.-Col. A. was plucked from his command of an F-15 squadron to command the new jet squadron. He said the Air Force gave him top priority in assembling the IAF's top aviators and ground crews to receive the new jets. 'This is a jet that doesn't exist elsewhere. We did not buy a jet that has experience in the US air force. This means that we will reach maturity in stages and it will take a while for the squadron to ripen and the jet reaches its full capacities," the 36-year-old squadron leader said. "We don't' think about the price of the jet in terms of dollars, but in the defense of the state of Israel," he told The Jerusalem Post. "We do understand how much the country is investing in this and not just the platform, but also in the development of the south (where the F-16I squadrons will be based and families relocated) "My hope is for us to be the spearhead of the IAF," Lt.-Col. A said. With the arrival of the 102 F-16Is, Israel will have a total of 362 of the jets – the largest fleet in any country in the world behind the United States. The F-16s are the backbone of the IAF, but these new "I" models will give added punch to the long-range capabilities of the IAF and will complement the squadron of F-15Is Israel received in the end of the 1990s. The Air Force has nicknamed the F-16I as "Sufa," or thunderstorm. It has a 820 non-refueling radius of operation.

Oh yeah. The guy who called me a "Jew spy" for reporting where Dick Cheney hides. After a few minutes of chitchat about old times, Morrison segues into a discussion about a group that believes in "reparations" -- payments to blacks as compensation for the ills imposed on African slaves. Reparations? The ADL wants to know from reparations? Well, sort of. Morrison asks me if I know about the reparations conference being held in Philly over the weekend. I tell him I do. He asks if I am going. Probably not, I answer. Why? And here comes the punch line to this story. With the reparationistas in town, Morrison asks me how I would like to spy on them for him. The invitation, let me tell you, shocks and offends. If I didn't spy for the FBI when they asked me to lure an espionage suspect into a sting, why would I spy for Morrison and the ADL? He is dismayed a bit when I tell him I won't do it. There will be some anti-Semitic nutballs in town to discuss whether the United States should pay reparations, he argues. People like Dr. Leonard Jeffries, the CUNY professor who once referred to Jews as "skunks." The ADL wants to know what they are up to, but they can't get anyone in. "Can you or one of your reporters give us some information?" Morrison asks. I am not a big fan of reparations. Then again, I don't want any money from the families of Nazis. But regardless of what I think about reparations, and regardless that I feel that Morrison's outfit does important work, there is no way I am going to give any information to the ADL. Or anyone else. Basically, I tell him to yentz. "We don't gather information for anyone but our readers," I tell Morrison. The 12th Session of the International Tribunal on Reparations for African People in the U.S. takes place in Philadelphia this Saturday and Sunday (Nov. 15-16) at International House. I really didn't want to know this, but thanks to Morrison's call, now I have to find out. Fortunately, the tribunal sent me an agenda. According to a PDF sent out by Uhuru, the organization of angry young white people who sell overpriced used furniture, the tribunal will meet over the course of the weekend. Saturday, the subject is "police brutality." The lineup is quite interesting. NYC Councilman Charles Barron will talk about police brutality in New York City. And there will be plenty of local speakers. Ramona Africa will discuss the 1985 bombing of the MOVE house, author and Temple journalism professor Linn Washington will dish on Philadelphia police brutality and Queen Carney and Reggie Bard will remember the Philadelphia police killing of their son, Edward "Boo" Pickens. After dinner, the aforementioned Dr. Jeffries will take part in a panel discussion titled "Reparations Now! A Just Demand." The next day should be interesting as well. The subject on Sunday is "prisons and miseducation." Among those speaking will be International People's Democratic Uhuru Movement President Chimurenga Waller, about the effects of busing and tracking in St. Petersburg, Fla., Kasima Farrakhan, head instructress at Muhammads Islamic Academy in North Philly, about the struggle for an African curriculum, and Pam Africa on behalf of Mumia Abu-Jamal. People have had some funny notions about my role in journalism, just because my parents utilized the snipping services of a mohel on my 8-day-old member. Back when I first started, at a tiny little newspaper in Newton, Mass., called the News Tribune, one of the new bosses, a shit-talker from Texas, told me the real reason I was still gainfully employed. "You know how to handle those Jewish wise guys from Newton," said the Texan. A year or two later, the Israelis had a few ideas about some of my stories. Criticizing
the U.S. empire is not enough
by Amitai Etzioni Searching for alternatives WASHINGTON Now that the American empire is collapsing around our ears, it is the turn of those who favored a multipolar world - and one in which the United Nations plays a key role - to show that they can do better. Although no one in Washington has noticed it yet, the days of the American empire are numbered. The notion that one can govern the world by military might has found its limit. It is now widely understood that the United States cannot take out the North Korean regime because some of its weapons of mass destruction are in caves, beyond the reach of bombs. Trying to use force against North Korea might cause the deaths of millions of South Koreans, which forces the United States to pursue negotiations, despite noises to the contrary. The macho declaration of pre-emption is already passé. Moreover, the U.S. armed forces are stretched thin in Iraq and Afghanistan and the American public willingness to accept more casualties and costs is rapidly fading. Far from going it alone, the United States is courting allies and friends, hat in hand, to share the burden of nation-building in these two countries. Washington felt forced to go pleading with the United Nations to grant its blessing for what needs to be done. Although it has obtained a UN resolution, it will not provide much relief in terms of funds or military forces. All this is a long way from the posture of unilateralism, yesterday's neoconservative battle cry. Indeed, the negotiations with North Korea are taking place in close collaboration with several other key nations - Japan, Russia, China and South Korea. It is less clear how Iran's nuclear program is going to be dealt with, but this situation, too, seems to be moving in a multilateral direction. Finally, nation-building is not working. When the United States was unable to find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and when the preinvasion claims of Al Qaeda connections proved to be hard to sustain, the Bush administration chose to rely more and more on what had previously been a sort of an afterthought: that the United States was out to liberate Iraq and turn it into the first shining prosperous and democratic Arab republic, a model that would change the whole Middle East. In reality, the United States has had a hard time pacifying central Iraq, and the rest of the country is run by mullahs (in the south) and Kurdish warlords (in the north), mirroring the state of Afghanistan outside of Kabul. This last rationale for the American empire is not holding either. Those who opposed the invasion of Iraq should not gloat. Rubbing the nose of a superpower in the mess it created could push the empire to one last hurrah, to show what it can do, with results that all would regret. Indeed, now is their turn to show how a less unipolar and a more UN-driven world might work. Here are the key missions for the "post-empire" world: Continue collaboration with the United States in the war against terrorism, which was from the beginning multilateral and UN-endorsed; Actively encourage Iran and North Korea, by use of incentives and, if need be, economic sanctions, to agree to a stronger UN role in their countries, to counter proliferation; Participate, under UN auspices, in limited nation-building in Iraq and Afghanistan, focusing on pacification, while insisting on the early withdrawal of all foreign powers, especially from Iraq; Form stronger "standby" regional forces, beginning in Africa, able to expeditiously stop genocides and civil wars before they unfold, backed up by big powers. Above all, these regional forces must be professionalized so that they themselves will cease to engage in large-scale criminal activities, such as drug dealing and rape. These humanitarian interventions are essential for the credibility of the new global order. Those who believe that everything can be fixed by negotiations should acknowledge that in situations such as we have recently seen in Liberia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Ivory Coast, and before that in Rwanda and East Timor, force must be applied; Honor commitments to increase contributions to the fight against AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis, and enhance economic development in the have-not countries, especially by lowering trade barriers; Take advantage of the opportunity to gradually restructure the United Nations, beginning by adjusting the composition of the Security Council to reflect the power realities of the emerging multipolar world. The UN Commission on Human Rights, which undermines the UN's credibility by including many nations that do not know of human rights, ought to be reconstituted. There is a season for everything. There was a time to criticize the American empire. For those who argue that they know better, the time has come to prove it. The writer is a professor at George Washington University. Albert Pike was an American masonic grandmaster of the 19th century. Unlike others of his cult, he was less than secretive and recorded the master plan in his writings. HEARD One of the best-known founding fathers of U.S. Freemasonry is Boston-born General Albert Pike, a 19th-century architect of the 'New World Order'. He was a linguist who rose to Grand Commander of North American Freemasonry from 1859-1891 and authored a Masonic handbook called The Morals and Dogma of the Ancient and Accepted Rite of Freemasonry. In this, Pike explains how the true meaning behind the symbols of Masonry must be kept from ordinary Masons: "Their true explication is reserved for the Adepts, the Princes of Masonry..." On August 15, 1871, Pike wrote a letter to his friend Guissepe Mazzini, a third degree Mason, who had headed the Illuminati (a Masonic offshoot, rooted in Bavaria) in 1834. The missive--formerly on display in the British Museum--was a blueprint for three world wars Pike envisioned as necessary to bring about the One World Order. According to Pike, the First World War must be brought about in order to overthrow the power of the Russian Tsars and of making that country a fortress of Communism... At the end of the war, Communism will be built and used in order to destroy the other governments and weaken religions. The Second War must be brought about so that Fascism and German (Aryan) Nationalism is destroyed, strengthening Zionism enough to institute a sovereign state of Israel in Palestine... Sound familiar? The Arab view It's little wonder that the Arab world views Freemasonry with a jaundiced eye. Few Moslems become Masons. The Jewish connection: In the minds of many Arabs, Masonry is inextricably linked to Judaism, mostly due to the Qabbalastic system of numbers (Gematria) used during the rituals and references to the Temple of Solomon. In reality, Masons are mostly Christian (90 per cent in the U.S.) although it must be said that Jewish Masons tend to be influential, and are said to include several Israeli politicians, including Benjamin Netanyahu. In 1996, a new lodge was formed in Israel, named after Sir Moses Montefiori, a prominent Mason and the brother-in-law of Nathan Rothschild. Its website reads: "The consecration (of the new lodge) took place in the quarries of Jerusalem..." From this choice of location, one can, perhaps, interpret that members of this lodge believe that the origins of Masonry are linked to the construction of Solomon's Temple. Albert Pike in his Morals and Dogma writes: "The room of place in which they (Masons) meet, representing some part of the Temple of Solomon, is also called the lodge". One must surely, therefore, wonder why so many Masonic scholars have concluded that Freemasonry has its roots in European stonecutters guilds... or is this organised deception? Masonic Forum magazine, while profiling Isaac Grassiani, the founder of the Supreme Masonic Council of Israel, suggests that Israel is "the legendary birthplace of the Craft." So, perhaps the view of some Arabs that Freemasonry's ideology is tied to Judaism isn't far wrong. Recall that Pike's letter was written in 1871. He refers to Zionism by name, yet there was no Zionism in 1871. Nor were there Fascists or a communist Russia. Pike's letter is no forgery, in fact it was, for a long time, on very public display. He was privy to the highest secrets of his order and he revealed them honestly. After reading Pike's revelations, one can only come to the conclusion that history is not random, it is planned. Pike's letter proves by its very terminology that, among other issues, the Holocaust of the 1940s was as manipulated as is the upcoming war to the end with Israel. Note with strong interest, that both Islam and Israel are slated for annihilation. There are numerous sources exposing the Masonic game of infiltrating Judaism to promote its demise from within. One of the most important books exposing Freemasonry's near-total corruption of Judaism are Rabbi Marvin Antelman's, To Eliminate The Opiate, Volumes One and Two.
