The Professor Arthur Butz controversy at your university indicates to me how among those academics who decry Professor Butz's refusal to believe in the 'Holocaust' are morally and intellectually bankrupt.

Instead of taking issue with Professor Butz's thesis you are blinded by hatred that causes you to become infantile in your response.

Defaming and degrading a man who refuses to believe in the Holocaust mythology is a reflection upon the minds that stoop to that kind of level, and not upon Professor Butz's dissident mind.

Dissent is the hallmark of academia and of free-thinkers who celebrate reason and understanding over superstition.

As a reality check - rather than huffing and puffing and bluffing why don't you look at the detailed facts of the hoax, then ask yourself why there is this public coercion that aims to force this Holocaust belief on to those who simply don't want to believe the myths.

What are these myths?

1. That Germans had an extermination policy against European Jewry;

2. That Germans used huge chemical slaughterhouses - gas chambers as the murder weapon;

3. That Germans exterminated six million Jews.

Then ask yourself the question: Why is it that after the 1988 Ernst Zündel 1988 Toronto Holocaust Trial, the four million figure at Auschwitz was reduced to 1.-1.5 million, without the six million figure being reduced?

Finally, please note that those who refuse to believe in the Holocaust van not prove that "it did not happen". It is up to the Holocaust believers to prove that it happened - something that ahs not been done.

The current Holocaust trial of Ernst Zündel at Mannheim, Germany, indicates how truth as a defence is thrown out the window. Further, on 15 February 2006, a defence counsel member, Sylvia Stolz, has been charged with the same allegation that her client faces because in her argumentation she too vigorously defended her client, thereby moving her mind too closely to "Holocaust denial".

Any academic with an ounce of integrity will realize that here we have the classic pattern that prevailed during the witch trials. The fact that one is in court is enough to establish guilt. What remains for a judge to determine is how contrite/sorry an accused is.The substance of the matter has become irrelevant.

The Northwestern University academics who have displayed basic bad manners in their diatribe against Professor Arthur Butz are moral and intellectual cowards. Had they till an ounce of integrity within their mind, then they would bother to think-through the issues that Professor Butz writes about in his book. instead, like little children they point their finger at Professor Butz, all the while playing to the gallery and claiming how good and righteous they are and how evil Professor Butz is.

Time will give Professor Butz a well-deserved victory for intellectual honesty while your mentally challenged academics may well be faced with a perpetual hunt for more scapegoats that prevent them from exercising their self-reflective intelligence in this matter.

Shame, shame, shame.
